Are you READY?

For the festivities that is!  National Scrapbooking Day is Saturday May 3rd!  We have all sorts of fun stuff planned for you on the site.  Hope you can stop by and join us.  Along with prizes, games, classes and challenges we have Betsey Veldman who just so happens to be a design team member of Tinkering Ink coming to visit with us in the chat room at 1P.M. Central!  Should be a great time to ask questions and learn more about the industry!
Now.....I already gave one sneak peak for my Exploding Box class.  If you have not checked it out yet you can see it here: http://www.thescrapbooksite.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=25891
So since it's a Happy Friday I thought I would post a little sneak peak at my challenge.  Not enough to completely give it away but to get you thinking.  Make sure you have a bunch of alpha's pulled for this challenge.  Oops did that give part of it away?
Hope to see you on the boards Saturday!-Angie

Gotta See It To Believe It...

I'd just like to take this time to let everyone know how CUTE the new PaperTrunk Jellybean line is!  I got it from AWDML not knowing that it would be so wonderful... Louisnt_she_lovelyThose little thumbnail pictures don't do the paper justice!  It really has a lot of potential as far as how you can use it.  The bright colored floral patterns can be individually cut out or used as a whole and the line is full  of double sided papers so you automatically have cooridinating 'cardstock' to go with! And might I say that the green Thickers 'Daquerie' letters match it perfectly, along with the Basic Grey 'Obscure' buttons.  When I did my LO's I also used some of the black Doodlebug paper Lomygirls_2frills, which are pretty versatile by themselves.  You can of course find all of these things over at AWDML... These supplies make a perfect little kit that you could use for yourself, give as a gift, or give away as a RAK!  Throw in a black sharpie and ink pad and voila!!!  Have fun!

March at The Scrapbook Site

200803springmorningkit Welcome to March at The Scrapbook Site!  We have two gorgeous kits for you this month, PLUS our sister site A Walk Down Memory Lane, is turning 5 years old this month!  We will be having some fun over at the message board, we'll show off some great projects from this month's guest designers, we'll be announcing our new Design Team, we're hosting a party day on March 9 over at Willow Traders (for their 3rd anniversary), and of course we'll be having some great bargains at the store throughout the month.

But first...I need to introduce you to our March kits.  The first kit is called Spring Morning.  This gorgeous kit includes Making Memories Garden Party papers mixed with Imaginisce For Peep's Sake papers.  These two lines are a beautiful mix of pastels perfect for any spring morning.  There are specialty papers galore in this kit including glitter on EVERY Imaginisce paper, two diecut papers from Making Memories, and the new Bazzill Stitch'z cardstock.  You get a mix of embellishments as well from Making Memories, Imaginisce, and Prima.  We introduced this kit during our Leap Day sale so our quanities are very limited.  You'll want to shop early to make sure and get your hands on this kit!200803sillypeakit

The second kit this month is called Sillypea after it's designer.  During our crop last month, we put out a challenge to our bulletin board members to design a kit.  We gave thema budget and told them they had to include a mix of companies, embellishments, and papers.  Jenn did a great job with this kit using Pink Martini Designs Flirtini papers and Studio 8 Playground papers.  This fun mix is great for any pictures needing a fun and funky look!  She found some great embellishments as well in Bo Bunny, Imaginisce, Heidi Swapp, Me and My Big Ideas, Doodlebug, Prima and Deluxe Designs.  Because this was a special edition kit, quanities are already low, so you'll want to act fast to make sure you get one of these awesome kits!

Our guest designers for March have all gotten their kits and are busy at work creating some cool layouts, cards and altered arts projects for you!  We'll be showing off their work throughout the month here on the blog and in our newsletters.

March's Guest Designer #5

Taylorvb The last Guest Designer for March is Taylor Van Bruggen.  She is an amazing card and paper artist and I am thrilled to have her as a guest DT member for March!  I have known Taylor for almost 4 years now.  We met when my sister was in college and Taylor was her roommate.  We've met a few times at various scrapbook shows, and I last saw her again at CHA this winter.

Taylor has totally inspirational blog called Taylored Expressions.  She posts cards, paper arts projects and has even ventured into sketches and challenges on "Cupcake Friday"!  How fun is that!?

So, now you know who our designers are...stay tuned to the blog 'cuz tomorrow's the first so that means you'll be able to see the kits up close and personal!  These 2 kits are a fun set this month!  One is a very fun and funky retro kit with Pink Martini Designs and Studio 8 papers.  The other is very pretty and pastel and ready for Spring or Easter.  The papers in this kit are Making Memories Garden Party and Imaginisce For Peep's Sake.  See you tomorrow!

March's Guest Designer #4

Trudeesauer Trudee Sauer is our fourth Guest Designer for March.  I have followed her blog for some time now, and was so excited to meet her at CHA this winter!  She was working at the Copic booth and gave me a quick tutorial on shading with the Copic markers.  I am so excited to be able to stock them in the store soon, because these markers are AMAZING!  They are alcohol based markers and blend beautifully, but my favorite part about them is NO STREAKS!

I also love love love the Copic Spica markers because they give a shimmer and glitter like no other marker I've ever seen.

Trudee was sent one of our March kits and I included one of the add-on clear stamps from the line as well, so I'm sure we'll see some gorgeous cards and projects from Trudee!  If you check her blog, you'll want to book mark it because there are so many cool tutorials on there for card making and stamping!

March's Guest Designer #3

Ksdlogo  The third guest designer for March is Kelly Schults.  She may be familiar to some of you who dabble in the digital scrapbook world, as she is an AMAZING digital designer.  She designs kits for 2 different sites and has some beautiful freebies available at her site as well.

We all fell in love with her designs in January, although some of you may not know it.  :)  She is the Designer of the Delight Papers from Dream Street Papers that were featured in our Fire and Ice kit.  She also has a new paper line from Dream Street that was announced at CHA called Art Nouveau.

Even though Kelly is a digital designer, she says her first love is paper.  We're excited to see what Kelly comes up with, using one of our March kits.

March's Guest Designer #2

Lizzieanndesigns_2 Meredith Ethington is the other half of Lizzie Anne Designs.  She is the co-owner and also a designer of the stamps that we love!  She has a blog called "Anne's Little Treasures" where she posts beautiful cards and projects using mainly Lizzie Anne stamps.  She also hosts a challenge using a sketch each week on her blog, so you'll want to be sure to head on over and check it out!

We are so excited to see what Meredith comes up with using our March kits and I'm sure you'll see some cool Lizzie Anne Design stamps used too!
