Buttons, buttons and more BUTTONS!

What is round, cute, comes in many colors and the perfect accent to any page or paper crafting project?  Buttons that is!  Oh my goodness I'm on such a button kick lately!  They can be used in so many fun ways.  I generally like using my buttons as the center of flowers, or to accent a photo corner or journal block.  However just recently I have started to use them in another way.  To help fill the empty space as well as add depth and design to my layouts.  The store A Walk Down Memory Lane carries a nice variety of colors and shapes.  You can see some here:

Bgarchaicbuttons Basic Grey Buttons are fun because they come in a variety of different colors!  You can see the Archaic set HERE which is a perfect set for those rough and ready boys!
Basic Grey has a collection called Recess, which Dbstripedbuttonsboyoboy definitely plays to our inner-child!  You can see this collection HERE.
For a completelyl different look using buttons, check out these Doodlebug Striped buttons.  They come with 4 matching buttons per package in a variety of color combinations.

I would love to see what you have created using buttons.  Please Fun_boy_memorieslgupload your creations to the TSS Gallery!

Here are two of my examples having fun with buttons!  I used Cherry Arte's Boy Story Line for the first one and Fancy Pants Papa Collection for the second layout!  You can find the papers in the store by clicking on the link.

Gotta See It To Believe It...

I'd just like to take this time to let everyone know how CUTE the new PaperTrunk Jellybean line is!  I got it from AWDML not knowing that it would be so wonderful... Louisnt_she_lovelyThose little thumbnail pictures don't do the paper justice!  It really has a lot of potential as far as how you can use it.  The bright colored floral patterns can be individually cut out or used as a whole and the line is full  of double sided papers so you automatically have cooridinating 'cardstock' to go with! And might I say that the green Thickers 'Daquerie' letters match it perfectly, along with the Basic Grey 'Obscure' buttons.  When I did my LO's I also used some of the black Doodlebug paper Lomygirls_2frills, which are pretty versatile by themselves.  You can of course find all of these things over at AWDML... These supplies make a perfect little kit that you could use for yourself, give as a gift, or give away as a RAK!  Throw in a black sharpie and ink pad and voila!!!  Have fun!

Tag Book

Tag Thanks for stopping by The Scrapbook Site DT Blog!  This is my first official posting as a new DESIGN TEAM MEMBER!  Whoot!  Whoot!  I am so happy and thrilled to be apart of TSS team and hope to send a little inspiration and some creative vibes your way!  Speaking of inspiration... check this out!

I always love a good challenge, so I was naturally drawn to participate in Cathy Zielske's "Month of Super Short Stories" blog challenge.  I figured even a time-starved college student/Mom/Wife/ like me, could keep up with this project.  It only takes a couple of minutes to journal about anything that happens to occur during that particular day.  Just a quick short story.  Easy Peasy!  Plus, I think it is fun working in a different format than what I normally do.  Cathy even provided the tag template in printable PDF's!  Is she awesome, or what?

I hate to throw anything away, so I used up some of my scraps from March's Silly Pea Kit to create my cover.  Some of the products I used are:
Pink Martini Flirtini Love Beads/Twist
Pink martini Flirtini Flower Power/Hot pants
Bazzill Cardstock
DreamStreet Chipboard Alpha & Lots of Ribbons!

Here are a few images of the inside of my tag book.

See... nothing to it! :) Why not start a monthly tag book of your own?  It is fun and easy!   At the end of the month you will have created a brief synopsis of your day-to-day life, which will highlight special and ordinary moments/memories/events that you may otherwise have forgotten.  Just remember to keep it simple and have fun!  Until next time...

Happy Scrapping!

Kellygroovygirl1 Our first layout using the March kits is by Kelly Shults.  She used the SillyPea kit along with the following supplies:

Crystal Stickles glitter
White Jelly Roll pen by Sakura
Twist and Tie Die Papers from the Flirtini collection
Light purple cardstock from kit
Chipboard Arrow from kit
Colorbox chalk
Rhinestones from Me & My Big Ideas from the kit

Kelly also included a closeup of the flowers to show the Stickles and how they made the flowers look so glittery and pretty.

Glittery Fun in the Sweet Kit

15_min_at_15Have you seen the Glitz it Now frosting that's included in the February Sweet kit?  Upon getting my kit, this was the first time I had ever seen or played with this cool product.  I used it in two different ways on my "15 minutes at 15" layout.  With it's self adhesive strip, it makes it easy to attach a whole line of the gems (the arrow).  Or, it's also easy to cut the gems apart and use them individually (the journaling bullets).  Our store carries these bling stickers in many different colors and because of the unique adhesive, you can even shape them into different designs.  They sure add some easy, glittery fun to a page.  You can check out all the colors here.

"Sweet" Kit Tip

Little_girl_big_world

Wow the "Sweet" kit really packs some punch.  Included in the kit is a sheet of the new Tim Holtz Grungeboard that you can use as is OR make something completely on you own with.  In my page "Little Girl, Big World" I used the reverse side of the Grungeboard for a negative effect when inking it.  I did this trick after I had cut out photo corners and an arrow out of the sheet of Grungeboard.  Click on the kit picture to the left to see the layout in more detail.  You can click HERE to order this kit now.

Once you try this handy new stuff you will want more and The Scrapbook Site store has lots more.  There are precut shapes, letters and numbers as well as many more of the individual sheets too.  See them HERE. Have fun playing with the goodies!
